Paperless banking

Over 6.5 tonnes of paper and cardboard are sent to landfill each year by Australians1, that’s why supporting the environment and taking practical action against the use of paper is important to us at Qudos Bank. The growing reliance in digital services has allowed us to go paperless with our Annual Report, MyQ Newsletter, important notifications and now statements, reducing environmental pollution meaning more savings back to our customers and back to the planet.

We encourage customers to opt for eStatements wherever possible to help us on our paperless journey.

We aim to continue building on a paperless environment by communicating with our customers electronically (when possible), that’s why it is important to ensure your details are up to date. To find out how to update your details visit the FAQs section of our website.

Qudos Bank Around the Office

At Qudos Bank we believe sustainability is essential now and into the future, that’s why we have incorporated a range of sustainable practices into our every day activities including:

  • Recycling our toner cartridges from printers around our Head Office
  • Recycling our coffee pods
  • Reducing printing and using recycled paper when printing is required
  • Using motion detector lighting around our Head Office to save on energy
  • Our Head Office building is NABAR 4.5 star and 4 star green rating
  • All new staff get a reusable keep cup

We are continually looking for new ways to improve our sustainable practices.

Greenfleet

Qudos Bank has worked with Greenfleet for 15 years! Greenfleet is a leading not-for-profit environmental organisation focused on protecting our climate by restoring our forests.

We recognise the importance of playing an active role in helping our environment and are proud to take practical action by partnering with Greenfleet.

Each year, Qudos Bank offsets enough carbon emissions to cover 1 car per employee and all our work-related air travel. This year, Greenfleet will plant native trees on our behalf to help establish biodiverse forests and offset 1,171 tonnes of CO2-e. We are proud to report that we have now offset more than 16,000 tonnes of carbon through Greenfleet’s reforestation projects resulting in the planting of around 56,000 native trees .

Greenfleet has been taking climate action for over 25 years and since 1997 has planted 10.3 million native trees across 550 biodiverse forests in Australia and New Zealand. These forests are legally protected for up to 100 years and will capture more than 4.4 million tonnes of CO2-e over their lifetimes.

Arena Sustainability

Qudos Bank Arena is a proud partner of AEG earth1, AEG’s corporate sustainability program.

The Arena conduct a range of activities to support sustainable practices including;

  • Exchanging environmental best practices with other venues
  • Encouraging staff to participate in community clean ups
  • Tracking environmental performance on a monthly basis, measuring energy consumption, water usage, and waste diversion
  • Contributing to AEG's progress towards its 2020 Environmental Goals

To continue to support the environment, Qudos Bank invest in EPI bags which consist of biodegradable plastics and are compatible with existing recycling operations. These EPI bags are used at the Qudos Bank Arena when attendees purchase any kind of merchandise.
