I hope this message finds you well. As we approach the end of another eventful year, it gives me great pleasure to reach out to you through our MyQ newsletter. We are committed to transparency and open communication with you and view this newsletter as a key method for fostering that connection.
With November drawing near we are excited to announce our upcoming Annual General Meeting, a significant event in our calendar where we come together to reflect on the year gone by, discuss our achievements, and share our vision for the future. I invite you all to mark your calendars for our AGM late in November 2023 and look forward to your active participation as we continue to shape the future of Qudos Bank together.
Our 2023 Annual Report is available on our website where you can find information on our yearly achievements, along with our results for the year ended 30 June 2023. The 2023 financial year reflects our strong financial performance and continued commitment to being purpose led and returning value to our customers, culminating in being awarded Customer-Owned Bank of the Year (Canstar) and Australia’s Best Customer-Owned Bank (Mozo Experts Choice Award).
Our new platform allowed us to process 50% more loan applications than the previous year, while achieving significantly lower processing times for similar volumes.
We introduced electronic signing of loan documents via DocuSign, saving time for our customers and reducing paper usage by over 400,000 pages per year.
We introduced PayTo, an alternative to direct debits, as well as functionality to allow greater control for customers over the sharing of data through Open Banking. The 3D Secure service to verify online payments or purchases made using Visa debit or credit cards was extended to EFTPOS.
App enhancements improved customer accessibility and new features kept our ratings high, with Apple and Android App Store ratings of 4.1 and 4.2 respectively.
We were awarded ‘Climate Active’ carbon neutral certification, having taken steps to reduce our greenhouse emissions and for credibly reaching a state of carbon neutrality. If you would like to learn more about how we received this certification, you can read the Public Disclosure Statement via the Climate Active website.
We farewelled former CEO Michael Anastasi in March and welcomed our new CEO Brendan Wright in August.
Being our customers, we encourage your active participation and vote in our upcoming 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is scheduled for Tuesday 28 November 2023 at 5:00pm.
The AGM will be held as a hybrid meeting so you can either attend on-site or register for a live webcast. Your vote will help shape our future as a bank. To find out more about the on-site location and the resolutions proposed for the 2023 AGM, please visit our website for more information.
I would like to thank you for your ongoing support and for choosing to bank with us. I am proud to be a part of a customer-owned bank that recognises the importance of delivering value to their members.
