Scheduled outage and Apple Wallet update

Action required: Apple Wallet update and planned maintenance on our digital banking services

Updating your digital wallet

If you use Apple Wallet with your Qudos Bank debit or credit card, there’s an important update you’ll need to act on.

From 24 August 2026, we’re making an update to contactless (PayWave) payments. To make sure your card continues to work properly in Apple Wallet, you may need to remove and reinstall your card. See below for more information.

Planned maintenance

We're undertaking planned maintenance on our digital banking services between 6:00pm Sunday Sunday 23 August and 7:00am Monday 24 August AEST.

The following services will be unavailable during this time:

  • Qudos Bank App
  • Internet banking
  • EFTPOS payments (between 1:00am and 3:00am only)

We encourage you to plan ahead for this outage if you regularly make card transactions during these hours.

What do you need to do?

If you don’t use Apple Wallet, you don’t need to do anything. If you use Apple Wallet, please follow the steps below on or after 7:00am 24 August 2026 AEST. Please note, if you use your Apple Watch for payments you'll also need to complete these steps.

How to reinstall your card to Apple Wallet

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone
  2. Tap your Qudos Bank debit card
  3. Tap the three dots (•••) and select Card Details
  4. Select Remove Card
  5. Restart your iPhone
  6. Open the Wallet app again
  7. Tap Add Card (+) and follow the prompts to add your Qudos Bank card

Once your card has been re-installed, it will be ready to use. If you don’t complete these steps, your digital card may not work as expected.

Updated card control features

Following these updates you may need to update your card control settings in the Qudos Bank mobile app. From now on you'll be able to:

  • Setup a new digital card without needing to wait for your physical card to arrive
  • Find your card details in the card controls section of the digital banking app and copy them to the clipboard for use when shopping online

Why is this happening?

We’re undertaking updates to our EFTPOS and digital banking systems to deliver improved features, including changes to transaction and payment limits on Qudos Bank debit and credit cards. These changes align with updated guidance from Visa.
