Interest rate increase – Thursday 5 February: Following the RBA’s decision to change the official cash rate, interest rates for owner‑occupier and investor variable loans will increase by 0.25%, effective 19 February 2026. When assessing package loans, our judges looked at 52 products, then identified the lowest cost options where borrowers could also get themselves a credit card and bank account that didn't charge any account keeping fees.
Along with its competitive rates, Qudos Bank's Low Cost Home Loan - Value Package stood out thanks to its many useful features and perks, including an offset account, redraw facility, and fee waivers on eligible credit cards.
In the Low Cost Home Loan category, we assessed 325 variable rate loans intended for owner occupier borrowers making principal and interest repayments. The winners were those that offered the best value across multiple LVR tiers.
Out of all the loans we assessed, Qudos Bank's No Frills Home Loan was deemed to be one of the better options for borrowers, thanks in large part to its low rates and no establishment fee or account keeping fees.
